Golfers of all ability levels will often say they take pleasure in hitting a round early in the morning, before going out to the office or starting their leisurely weekends. Simultaneously, some of the greatest golf courses are in cold weather regions where it’s imperative to bundle up while playing on the course. When the greens are still moist and the air is crisp, golfers can stay focused and play their best rounds. In order to play their best, golfers have to be prepared with appropriate attire to stay warm while they play. Here are five ways to stay warm on the course.

  1. If the early morning golf game is forecasted to be exceptionally windy, put on layers of clothing to avoid the cold. Thermal shirts are appropriate and keep the body temperate and comfortable. Thermal underwear can also be worn when playing a game with windy conditions. These are affordable and can be layered under any outfit.
  2. One of the most straightforward ways to stay warm is to keep hands and fingers snug with golf gloves. Look for styles that are made of high quality components to endure all types of weather and also feature leather grips to improve golf swings. Some popular retailers include Wilson, Nike and Adidas.
  3. Feet should be another concern when trying to keep warm. Search for extreme sports socks that retain the heat and insulate while providing the best possible comfort to the foot and heel.
  4. While some golfers feel more at ease in a skirt or shorts, ladies golf pants are more fitting when playing in colder weather. Look for pants that are made of fleece, thick cotton or windbreaker materials to stay warm.
  5. Golf jackets are another important piece of clothing to have while playing early morning golf. Shop for jackets to throw on during the game or look for more fashion forward designs to add some character to the game. Tracey Lynn Golf is a popular women’s clothing designer that keeps function and fashion in the forefront. Her jackets are constructed with wicking fabrics and UV protection, making jackets extremely comfortable and easy to take care of.

Did you know that trunk rotation of the golf swing puts enormous pressure on your lower back? That’s why the back problems are the most common type of golf-related injuries.

Weekend golfers who have poor swing mechanics, lack of flexibility and core strength are more likely to get lower back pain. Golfers with poor swing mechanics tend to swing harder, causing larger spinal loads and increased muscle activity, resulting in more stress to the lumbar spine. Pro golfers who are physically fit and have good swing techniques are not immune to lower back problems either. Pro golfers tend to develop lower back pain from overuse due to repetitive one-sided movement.

Golfers who have degenerative disc disease or arthritis in the lumbar spine are more susceptible to overloading their spines. The discs lose their shock-absorbing capabilities, and loads are transferred to other structures within the spine that are unable to withstand these forces. A poor golf swing causes more shearing, compression and rotational forces on the low back. Can you believe that your body weight is forced through your spine eight times as you make contact with the ball? So, if poor mechanics are combined with a weak back, you are more likely to cause yourself a significant injury.

Poor posture is the most significant contributor to golfers’ lower back pain. Poor posture is caused often by muscle imbalances or visa versa. Poor posture and any amount of muscle imbalances cause biomechanical fault to your swing thus increasing risk of lower back injury. Golf swing requires that all elements of the posture have to be properly maintained throughout the swing. Golfers with a good posture swing better – and without back pain! Believe it or not, a proper posture has a positive influence on power production to your swing, too!

Many players with lower back pain are looking for an easy fix to treat their back pain. Some players are taking extra amount of painkillers before game while others try to get quick-fix with chiropractors. It’s true that these “treatment” might help reduce pain temporarily, but they rarely solve the underlying problem(s). If you lack flexibility on your shoulders, spine and hips, weak core muscles, poor posture and muscle imbalances, your back pain is not going anyway. Pain will persist until you decide to concentrate more in caring the cause of the pain, not only symptoms.

Pilates is a good exercise program for people with lower back pain, especially for golfers. Several studies have shown that golfers with low back pain have decreased trunk and hip strength, decreased hamstring flexibility, as well as trunk rotation to the right is also limited. Those are the main problem areas that we are focusing in Pilates - and much more. Pilates is all about body alignment, deep back and abdominal muscles strength, joint and spine mobility and stability, as well as soft tissue flexibility. A well-trained Pilates instructor can identify your musculoskeletal imbalances and provide personalized golf-specific Pilates exercises to improve your posture and overall conditioning specific to golf. Correct posture and good muscle balance will help you to get into proper positions which are required in effective golf swing. And the best part – they will lessen your lower back pain or even help you play pain-free!

A slice can discourage any young golf enthusiast from embracing the ideologies of the game; hence the need for golf tips slice rides high on the list of the game. A slice is one the problems that affect the flow and character of the ball leading to lower marks/ scores.

Happy Thanksgiving’s Day! Today let us learn how to play 460cc Driver.

189 G 1244019985785 How to play 460cc Driver well

Tee the Ball Higher

The old adage has always been that the top of the driver should be about halfway up the ball when it is teed up. However, with a 460cc driver, I like to see you set the ball high enough on a peg such that the top of the driver is no more than one-third of the way up the ball. Of course, this means that the standard 2 1/8-inch tee will not be long enough to accommodate. You will need a tee at least 3 inches in length, but likely a little longer than this.

Move the Ball Forward in Your Stance

(Towards your left foot for a right-handed golfer)

The notion of playing the ball off of your left heel is no longer valid. We want to hit the ball on the upswing, thus increasing launch angle and decreasing the ball's spin rate. In order to do this, we must move the ball forward in our stance. For some golfers, it will be enough to play the ball off of your big toe, while for others it may be necessary to move the ball all the way up so that it is positioned outside of your left foot. Experiment with different ball positions – but, whatever you do, move the ball forward in your stance!

Set Up to Hit the Ball on the Center of the Face

Most golfers set their driver on the ground at address. This results in a high percentage of driver shots being hit on the heel-side of the face, especially when we tee the ball higher. Test yourself this way: The next time you are at the range and set up to hit your driver, once in the address position stretch your arms out and move the club up to the ball's height. Notice where the ball is going to contact the face of your driver? On the heel side – or possibly the hosel – of your driver.

This is a very common problem for golfers – and it's an awkward adjustment. The solution is very simple, however. Instead of setting your driver behind the ball such that the center of the face is aligned with the ball, move backwards a couple of inches (towards your back) such that the toe of your driver is aligned with the ball. Now do the test again. Stretch out your arms and pick the club up to the ball's height. Is the ball aligned with the center of the driver face? If so, put the club back down and fire! If not, keep moving back until it is.

Don't worry that once you set the driver down it doesn't align with the ball. The ball isn't on the ground - it's three inches above the ground!

Hit the Ball on the Upswing

The driver is now a specialty club, much like a putter. Our set-up, ball position – everything is different from any other club in the bag. You shouldn't be hitting the ball at the bottom – or apex – of the golf swing like a fairway wood. The ball should be struck past this point, on the upswing. This will lead to a higher launch angle and lower spin rate – which is how we are going to hit the ball farther than we ever have before.

Happy Thanksgiving's Day

Now in the Northeast/MidAtlantic region of the U.S., the weather has cooled and golf season is winding down, or is it?  Maybe you won't be able to play your local golf course (Top 10 Strangest Golf Courses) once the biting chill of November hits, but that is no reason to cease working on your game!  From now until about mid-December, the weather will still be reasonable enough in the southern MidAtlantic, and still close enough to take a long weekend to play a little golf.  After that, as the season wears on, the further south you must go.

If you don't have the opportunity to get away for a few days, find your nearby indoor golf range to hit a few balls (Winter Golfing Tips) and maybe work on your short game.  Or, check out where you can play a round of golf on an indoor golf simulator.

Most importantly, this is the time of year to work on body improvements that can help your golf swing.  As we get older, we tend to lose flexibility and strength if we do not keep up with our workouts.

I believe that this time of year is the best time to really go to work on your body and your golf swing!  By combining strength training, stretching, and golf specific exercises along with a thorough understanding of what you want to do with your golf swing, you can make significant improvements in the off season.  Then, when Spring arrives, you will have full confidence in your swing, and you can focus on your short game, where you will be able to drastically reduce your scores!

You are an amateur golfer who became addicted to the sport recently.  You realize that you will never reach a level in which you would turn pro, compete on tour and become a multi-millionaire.  Instead you’ve become the weekend golfer who plays with several other buddies at your local country club, partially for enjoyment.

While you play for fun, nevertheless the natural competitor in you wants to win those bets every now and then with your buddies for low score during your round.  What you are seeking is a solution to help you improve.  You want to develop a better golf swing, proper technique being the key which will help you lower your handicap.

Try to envision what happened during your last competitive round with your friends.  One hole during that round really cost you.  What happened on the tee shot?  You remember, am I right?  You were down two strokes from the guy leading in your group, and you were standing ready to hit your shot off of the 16th tee box.  You were a little anxious, hoping to make up at least one of those strokes.  So, taking out your driver on this par-4 hole, your goal was to put just a little bit extra on that shot to carry the ball in flight longer than usual.  What happened was you tried to muscle up, but did so incorrectly.   This led to your normal swing motion to become slightly off-base.  The result was that the ball sliced off-course and landed in deep rough, instead of in the fairway.

At that point, you were probably frustrated.  I know what it feels like, believe me.  Instead of possibly making up one shot to your opponent, you probably will lose an additional stroke as his tee shot landed squarely in the center of the fairway.  You ask yourself the following.  If I need to, is there a solution out there that I can learn which will allow me to strike my tee shots with more velocity?  Could I try to get that extra 15-20 yards off of the tee box when the occasion calls for it?

Well there is a solution.  What you as the amateur golfer needs to know, is that there is one factor regarding your body position throughout the entire swing process.  Most amateurs do not learn this correct body position involving your core, which is a prime factor for developing a consistently grooved golf swing, proper technique being implemented.

Besides providing the solution which will improve an amateur golfer’s overall game, this system will also show you how to get those extra yards added on to your tee shot when necessary.  It has helped tens of thousands of golfers worldwide.  Using this system, many golfers have seen 5, 10, up to 15 points shaved off of their handicap.

So, do not allow frustration to overwhelm you.  You should not believe that you will never improve in the game of golf.  Learn the proper technique with regards to your golf swing.  It will enable you to one day attack that crucial hole late in a round.  You will be collecting money from those in your group when you achieve the low score during your weekend rounds.

With regards to one’s golf swing, proper technique is instrumental in allowing an individual to reach his or her potential in the game.  Now that you have read this article, I believe that you want to discover the one bit of information that will accelerate your improvement as a golfer.  Please visit my website at: http://www.abettergolfswing57.net to get your hands on a proven method that has worked for thousands of golfers like yourself.

Driving the ball longer is the ultimate goal for most golfers, and there's no doubt we all can improve our distance off the tee by making a few simple adjustments.

The following golf tips will absolutely improve your driving distance potential ...

1. Turn on the power:
During the backswing turn your right shoulder away from the ball while shifting your weight and the club head back (right handed golfers). This puts you into a powerful position at the top of the backswing.

2. Generate power to the ball:
Much of the power in your golf swing comes from a solid base. As you swing the club down from the top of your back swing feel as though your front leg is as solid as it can be. At impact your front hip should be turning out of the way so you can straighten the front leg upon impact. Allow the force of your swing to let the hands release the club head into the follow-through position.

3. Loosen up:
Before your round, hit as many driver shots as possible (15 to 20), making a full backswing and full follow-through. These full swings will get your body loose faster than any other exercise. Also, end on a good shot, as it will be the last thing you remember before you hit that opening tee shot.

4. Chin at the ball during impact:
Keep your chin over the ball while swinging though the impact zone. Allow the force of your swing to pull your head up after you hit the ball, as this will keep you "behind the ball" upon impact. All good players do this to generate power.

5. Maintain your spine angle:
Power comes from releasing your coil at impact. When you hunch over the ball you lose your coil and decrease swing speed. The proper address position is to stick out your butt, straighten your back and bend from the hips. (Feel like you are about to sit in a chair.) Try to maintain this position through the entire golf swing. Begin by taking easy half swings to get the feel. As it becomes more comfortable lengthen your swing and increase the speed.

Experiment with these tips and find the one or two that help the most. Practice those and see your distance increase.
