Callaway Golf Designer-Roger Cleveland

Roger Cleveland is the founder of Cleveland Golf, he joined Callaway Golf company in January, 1996. He is one of the Callaway Golf Design Experts, he worked as the global chief designer. His exquisite handmade and expertise made him the world's most famous golf equipment producer.

Mr. Cleveland put his insight, experience and crafts into a number of Callaway Golf products, such as X-Forged Irons, X-Tour Forged Wedges, and even goes back to Big Bertha X-12 Irons of X series and each generation of products, such as X-22 and X-22 Tour Irons. Owing to the special needs of the Asian players, he designed its distinguished new Legacy Series Irons and Woods - Legacy wooden tee, fairway woods. Mr. Cleveland combined his cut short game experience with expertise and made both he and Callaway Golf famous. Mr. Cleveland established Cleveland Golf in 1979, and aiming at testing products for professional events, and get inspiration from it. Below are three popular myths I like to debunk in my golf lessonsand golf tips. One or two of them may have an element of truth inthem. The other may have no truth in it at all. Regardless, all ofthem embody ideas that can elevate scores and boost golfhandicaps.Aim at the TargetWe've all heard this statement before. Maybe even said it. Thestatement isn't so much mythic as it is confusing. The questionis, aim what at the target? Your clubface? Your shoulders? Yourbody? The statement doesn't really say.The problem with this myth is that it can cause people to misalignthemselves in one of two ways, hurting his or her golf handicap. aiming the feet, hips, knees, and shoulders directly at the target,leaving the clubface following a line well right of the target; or, aiming to compensate for ballflight errors, like when you aim leftto compensate for the ballflight error of a slice (for right handers).When aimed correctly, the leading edge of the clubface sits at aright angle to the target line while your body aligns parallel-left ofthe target line. This set up establishes perfect parallel alignment.This position doesn't come naturally. So you need to work on iton the range to recognize when you're aiming correctly on thecourse.Here's a drill I use in my golf instruction sessions. First, pick atarget and lay one club down on the ground a few feet in front ofthe ball, but on the target line. Then, take a second club and lay itdown parallel to the first but along your toe line to indicate bodyalignment. Make adjustments as necessary. Finally, hit a fewballs and see what happens.
