2010 Hot New TaylorMade Burner XD Iron Set

The PGA Tour kicked off on January 4, 2010 with the SBS Championship in Kapalua, Hawaii. What you didn’t hear about it? Exactly. By the way, Geoff Ogilvy one the tournament for the second straight year at 22 under. Regardless, the victory didn’t get much coverage except on golf outlets because a certain individual was not there. This wasn’t particularly troubling since he rarely plays the tournament. As the weeks pass, however, this is going to become a bigger problem.

Catch a Tiger by its tale…and watch the PGA weep! This pretty much sums up the situation. Tiger has a bushel of personal problems and nobody knows when he will be returning to the tour. Until then, the PGA is going to have some serious problems. Statistics have shown that television viewership drops roughly 50 percent when Woods does not play. That is a huge issue for tournaments already facing issues in a tough economy.

Take the San Diego Open at Torrey Pines in the last week of January. This is a tournament Tiger traditionally has always played at. All indications are that he will not this year. Torrey Pines is a tremendous golf course, but the promoters are having serious issues finding a major sponsor for the tournament. The tournament was once known as the Buick Open, a Tiger sponsor, but that has all gone by the wayside. With a smaller television audience sans Woods, it is simply proving to be difficult to attract sponsors per radio reports out here in San Diego. The tournament appears as though it will go on with a group of secondary sponsors, but this is a sign of things to come with future PGA events.

Any way you slice it, the PGA is in for a brutal year. A combination of a Tiger gone missing with a sour economic environment is a toxic mix. The PGA will survive, but a drop in win purses may have players realizing how important Tiger is to the tour.

Staying Warm the Whole Round

I have lived and played most of my golf in the deep South.  This makes it a bit of a challenge to walk a round of golf due to the heat and humidity.  During July and August the heat and humidity can make playing at all a challenge. Sometimes the best you can do is to tee off early in the morning and finish you round before it just becomes unbearably hot.

For this reason, I played golf for several years as an adult before I walked my first round.  I have always stayed in good shape and didn’t feel guilty using a cart since I knew I was getting my exercise elsewhere.  Then one summer evening a friend asked me to play nine holes after work and he almost always walked when he played.  I had an old pull cart in my garage storage closet, so I decided “What the heck, it can’t hurt me”.  And I gave it a try.

Since it was evening, even though it was summer, the heat wasn’t too bad.  It was hot, but not totally miserable.  Once I adjusted to that and put it out of my mind, I really began to enjoy this particular round of golf.  And several of the things had nothing to do with golf.

One of the things that was very enjoyable was the conversation.  When you are walking between shots instead of riding a cart, you have a little more time to relax and talk.  Talk about anything, golf, life, family etc.  It really wasn’t a huge amount of time, but it felt so more relaxing than rushing up to your golf ball in a cart and jumping out to take your next shot.

Another thing that I enjoyed was that I really seemed to pay more attention to the beauty around me on the golf course and surrounding the course.  Again, there really wasn’t necessarily a logical reason why I should have seen and enjoyed the surrounding landscape more, but walking seemed to relax me and I just seemed, for some reason, more in tune with my surroundings.

Now besides just enjoying the non golf setting more, there were some definite benefits to my golf game from walking.  I actually seemed to play better overall golf, both physically and mentally.  One thing that I noticed was that I was definitely more relaxed when I approached each shot.  I can’t attribute it to any one thing; I just noticed that as I came up to look at my lie and to think about what my next shot should be, I just felt more relaxed.  And definitely I have found that better golf shots come from being relaxed.

I have walked many times since that first round of golf and I always enjoy it.  I play better golf and I always seem to ask myself the same question,  “Why don’t I walk on every round of golf?”

Tiger Woods may feel like he’s bearing his own scarlet letter. Yet, Elin Nordegren, Tiger’s wife, endures an apparent burden; she carries the public humiliation of her husband’s infidelity. Many people speculate that the beautiful supermodel will stand by her man due to the millions of dollars at stake. Others argue that Elin will leave Tiger. Unfortunately, this situation plays out like another celebrity circus. Witnessing a public humiliation isn’t pleasant. It is easy to speculate as we watch the unraveling of one’s life. Some people can remember, growing up, the cruelty of youthful jokes in public at someone else’s expense. This article examines how to deal with public humiliation in order to move forward.

The Circumstance

Life is more than a game. Tiger may be the greatest golfer is history. However, Tiger’s own imperfection has damaged his public persona. On November 25th, the National Enquirer published a story alleging Tiger Wood’s infidelity. On November 27th, Tiger crashed his Cadillac Escalade into a fire hydrant in his neighborhood without apparent explanation. He refused to talk with the policemen. Shortly afterward, several women claimed they had extramarital affairs with Tigers. Tiger has remained quiet except for his website posting: “This situation is my fault, and it's obviously embarrassing to my family and me.” His delayed response to any wrongdoing (stopping Enid’s public humiliation) came much too late. In fact, he may not be able to rapidly repair his tarnished image. According to a Gallup poll, his unfavorable rating surged up to 57%, compared to only 8% four years ago.

The Healing Strategy

Public humiliation can heal over time. Public humiliation can be defined as “an action that allows an individual’s personal embarrassment to become publicly known.” Shame is defined as “a strong emotion caused by guilt or disgrace.” Shame is not always bad. For example, children know not to misbehave in public due to the fact that they might embarrass their parents. However, there isn’t much positive that one can say about public humiliation. It is an awful feeling. If the act is done by a loved one, it becomes a tormented burden. Why would anyone do such a thing? To take back one’s integrity from public humiliation requires a great amount of courage. For many people, it takes personal healing that involves moving away from public scrutiny. In fact, a spiritual renewal can assist in the recovery process toward forgiveness. In many cases, celebrities are unwilling to give up the public limelight. Unfortunately, some people can allow this humiliation to chew up their self-worth, thereby becoming a prisoner of their imperfections.

Some folks possess the inner strength to press onward. However, it doesn’t mean the individual forgets the humiliation. Lewis Smedes, author of Forgive & Forget: Healing the Hurts We Don’t Deserve, spent a lifetime understanding how people can forgive others. Yet, he did not underestimate the damage caused to the victim: "You can forgive someone almost anything. But you cannot tolerate everything. . . . We don't have to tolerate what people do just because we forgive them for doing it. Forgiving heals us personally. To tolerate everything only hurts us all in the long run." For example, Jenny Sanford, wife of South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford, filed for divorce after her husband’s affair was revealed – showing that it is possible for a person involved in such a situation to take empowering action.

Conclusion

Getting over public humiliation isn’t an easy process. Today, public apologies are rather common. Many public figures have used the public relations playbook by announcing their transgression with a contrite spirit in hopes of getting the story behind them. Yet, they find it harder to remove the damage done to their victim. In fact, the person who caused the public humiliation does not get off free. In the Scarlett Letter, Dimmesdale’s secret sin haunts him in the form of deterioting health and torment by Hester’s husband. Likewise, Tiger is the center of tabloid news and late night talkshow banter. Many wonder if Enid can overcome her hurt and accept Tiger back, or whether she will choose to move on with her own life. For many individuals who are not in the limelight, they must gather the strength and fight for their integrity and self-worth. Time is still ticking.

How Many Clubs Do I Buy?

This may seem a fairly elementary question but actually there are many options when it comes to deciding exactly which individual clubs you buy. The most common set of irons is from a 3 iron to a pitching wedge (PW). Many better players may choose to buy 2 to 9 iron and leave room to add specialist wedges. The 2 iron will offer them an extra bit of length on their longest iron and another club to use on the tee. A slightly weaker player or older player may decide to choose 5 iron to SW, the reason being that they will leave room for fairway woods and utility clubs in their bag in place of the longer irons, whilst using wedges provided by the set.

Try Before You Buy!

One of the great benefits of buying clubs today, is the option to try clubs and visit demo days. We could not recommend this enough. Just finding the right clubs for you is fine, but unless you actually use them and see how they hit then you may never be sure you are getting the perfect set.

Demo Days

Demo days where manufacturers offer all golfers the chance to try out all their latest equipment and get advice on specifications and any other questions you might have. Some demo days even have custom fitting trucks with computer analysis equipment to analyse you swing and build you a club to order there and then. Custom Fitting

Custom fitting is a service offered by all the big manufacturers that has revolutionised many golfer's games. The ability to adapt the specifications of irons to match your size and swing is a very useful method of buying clubs. The average set is designed for a player that is roughly 5 foot 10 inches tall. If you are not exactly this height it is likely that you would benefit from custom fitting.

It involves customising the length of shaft and lie (i.e. the taller you are the longer shaft you will require and you may perhaps need a more upright lie). The shaft stiffness can also be adjusted to suit your swing speed so that the club does not arrive too open or shut at impact. Even the head design can be custom fitted to your swing and desired shots.

Custom fitting will take approximately 30 minutes to do at your local pro shop or golf shop. It will cost you a little more than buying a standard set of clubs but may save you money as you wont need to change set as you will have a set perfectly suited to you (so no excuses!).

I find it completely unbelievable the number of times that I have been enjoying a beautiful day, on a lush green golf course, scoring well and enjoying the company only to have it ruined by the selfish players ahead of me who can't seem play at a reasonable pace. While I notice others playing slowly and often find myself held up, especially on weekends, I am not a particularly good golfer. I play fairly consistently to a 15 handicap and have done so for about 10 years now. The peculiar thing is that I have discussed my concern with many golfers who are both much better and much worse than I and they all have similar complaints about slow play. If all these people are complaining about slow play then who is responsible for all the slow play?

I know that most of the time that you're on the course and complaining about slow play you're doing your part by keeping up with the group ahead of you and usually it appears as though the group ahead of you is also doing their part. The comment is then made from someone in your foursome that it must be a group up farther ahead that is slowing everyone down. The problem is that everyone is saying this and nobody seems to be able to find the group slowing everyone down! Here's a news flash for every golfer out there...It isn't the group 'up ahead somewhere' its YOU! The fact that everyone is complaining about slow play does not automatically eliminate them from being part of the problem. In fact it is an indicator that if everyone is complaining but nobody can find the perpetrators then those doing the complaining are the most likely source of the problem.

Most golfers have at least a superficial understanding of the rules of golf. Most of the time they choose not to apply the rules that they are aware exist. I couldn't care less if you insist on cheating. What I am talking about is using your 'foot wedge' to better your lie or nudging the ball onto a tuft of grass in the fairway, or take a mulligan for that sand shot that didn't quite make it out of the bunker the first time. None of these rules infractions impacts me so basically I don't care. Golf is a game that you play against yourself. I play against all of my previous scores and you play against all of your previous scores. Each of us trying to beat each and every round that we ever played. However, once you start to effect my round by slowing down the play for everyone on the golf course I've got a bone to pick with you. You might not be breaking any rules but in my mind, given that we are not playing against each other like those guys on the PGA tour, I consider you to be breaking something more important than the 'rules of golf'. You're breaching the fundamental etiquette of the game!

The fundamental etiquette of the game is that you should endeavor each and every time you step on the golf course to ensure that you not only don't negatively impact the game of any other golfer on the course but in fact assist in improving each golfer's experience. This is why we fix ballmarks and spikemarks on the green, replace divots on the fairway and rake sandtraps. While I can personally attest to the fact that most golfers that I have seen and played with are aware of these 'rules of etiquette' few consider the speed of their play to be a commensurate responsibility.

The fact is that on most golf courses, groups generally keep up to the group ahead of them (hopefully the course you play has a good marshal that insists that groups that do not keep up pick up their ball and move to the next tee). The problem is not that any one group is slowing things down. The problem is that the overall speed of play is too slow. And everyone is to blame for it - you included!

Let's face it - you and don't play with Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson or Mike Weir. There is no need to change your mind three times about which club you are going to hit and then take six practice swings each time you address the ball. Most courses these days encourage golfers to play ready golf - do it!

Tiger Woods' headline making play has brought more and more publicity to the sport and as a result more and more people are taking up the game. These new golfers often learn only bits and pieces of golf etiquette. Knowing only a little bit of the etiquette they ensure that they apply what they know. For the most part a new golfer will know that the lowest score goes first on the tee, farthest from the hole is next and if you're lucky, not to walk in the line of someone else's putt. It is the responsibility of veteran golfers to assist rookie players in the 'rules' and merits of 'ready golf'. Even the stodgiest golfer is not going to be offended if you hit first when it was their honor. In fact, looking at the big picture, most will appreciate it as it will speed up play and everyone enjoys their game more when they do not have to wait.

Don't be misled - rookie golfers are not the sole reason that golf is too slow. Often I find that, because of their eagerness, and because they don't know any better they are the most proficient of golfers in the application of ready golf.

Golf is meant to be a social game and should continue to be so. If it were not there wouldn't be an issue of slow play - there wouldn't be any golfers on the course! Ready golf does not mean that you cannot converse throughout your round or tell jokes to your golf partner, it merely means that the person who is ready to go next hits their ball and the group moves on. Further, when playing ready golf it is important that each golfer is aware of where the other players balls are so that they are always aware of when a shot might take place and so that they can curb the volume of their conversation while these shots are being taken.

Ready golf is simple. Be thinking about what club you are likely going to hit before you actually stand over your ball. As you are walking or driving towards your ball guess at the distance to the pin and evaluate the lie so that when you arrive at the ball you have at least narrowed down the club you are going to hit to one or two at the most. Watch other golfers in your foursome from where your going to hit your next shot rather than standing next to them for ever shot and then proceeding to your ball. When on the green look at your putt while others are making theirs. The first person to finish reading their putt should go ahead while the others in the group evaluate their putts - regardless of who's farthest away. If you putt and miss your first putt by a couple of feet don't mark your ball, pick it up, clean the ball and then wait for someone else to putt. The proper etiquette to follow when playing ready golf is to politely tell the balance of the group that you are going to hole out and then proceed to do so. Likely you already know the line as a result of your first putt. Your group will always finish the hole faster using this strategy rather than waiting for your turn using the 'farthest from the hole' rule. Most golfers' number one complaint is people who stand around on or around the green after they hole out making them wait to hit their shots. Mark your score on the next tee! Once your group has finished, quickly put the pin back in the hole and make your way to the next tee- preferably off the back of the green. Don't mark the scorecard and certainly don't 'try that putt one more time' or you might end up with an approach shot in your ear.

Golf is an old game with many traditions and etiquette that should be respected when possible. I get that! However, when the game is to the point where I (and many others) avoid playing golf on the weekends because of five and half hour rounds there's a problem.

If we can all commit to playing ready golf and keeping up with the group ahead of us then perhaps more of us can finish our rounds on the weekend rather than trying to find our balls in the dark coming down the 18th fairway.

KC Royals, Kansas City And Early History

The name "Royals" is said to have originated from the American Royal Livestock Show that has been held in Kansas City since the year 1899. The Royals played their first match in Kansas City, Missouri in 1969. In their initial years itself their first GM, Cedric Tallis built a strong team with a few good tradeoffs. By inventing in a strong farm system, many baseball stars such as Paul Splittorff, Steve Busby, Frank White, George Brett, and Al Cowens emerged.

Year 1971 saw the fans screaming, shouting and waving their KC Royals tickets at the Municipal stadium as the Royals had their first winning season.

Two years later, in 1973, the Royals adopted "powder blue" road uniforms and shifted to the Kauffman Stadium (earlier known Royals Stadium). By 1975, the KC Royals had risen in stature in the AL Western Division, winning three division championships from 1976 to 1978. They continued to tread on the road to triumph through the 1980s under the leadership of Jim Frey. During the 1970s and 1980s, the Yankees and White Sox continued to be their arch rivals and fans enjoyed some bitter sweet baseball action with their KC Royals tickets.

Pine Tar Incident, Post 1980

The Pine Tar Incident took place in the 1980s. The umpires discovered the placement of pine tar on baseman George Brett's bat. This was illegal and the umpires squashed his home run and ejected him. Today, this incident is a part of baseball folklore. However, not losing hope with the negative publicity, Manager Dick Howser groomed other star players Bret Saberhagen, Mark Gubicza, Danny Jackson Bud Black and Charlie Leibrandt post 1984, resulting in a triumphant World Series Title for the team in 1985. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, the Royals developed young talent such as Bo Jackson, Kevin Seitzer, and Tom Gordon. They made some sensible trade offs, and KC Royals was rocking!

A Period Of Rapid Decline As Payrolls Are Slashed

After 1995, the Royals started to slide. Kauffman, their mentor died in 1993 which left the team without a permanent owner until David Glass purchased the team in 2000. However, as the team payroll was sliced, the Royals found it difficult to retain their stars players. To save on hefty pay packages, the team also traded off good players such as Kevin Appier, Johnny Damon and Jermaine Dye. This decision did not go in favor of the team, as in 2002; the Royals posted a dismal team record losing 100 games for the first time in franchise history.

In year 2003, Manager Tony Peña, gave the team a facelift and people again started to buy KC Royals tickets. Year 2004 was full of errors and by year 2005, K C Royals were renowned for the smallest payrolls in the Major Leagues. Year 2006 was also replete with losses.

During the 2006 off-season, the Kansas City appeared to make amends. They opened their wallets and roped in Gil Meche by signing on $55 million contract for 5 years. The Royals had several promising prospects, and their fair share of winning matches in year 2007 gave their fans a glimmer of hope. Dayton Moore who took over the team as GM was also good news for the team. Little wonder that the KC Royals tickets are selling like hot cakes today. Mickelson blocked a tee shot left off a hospitality tent, took two to get out of the trees, blasted out of a bunker and made a double-bogey 6 to blow the Open in New York, where he is a huge crowd favorite. His subsequent self-effacing quote, "I am such an idiot," said it all and made Mickelson the new poster boy of major championships squandered. At least in golf, that's only a temporary position. (For details, see Colin Montgomerie, Scott Hoch, Greg Norman or Kenny Perry, to name a few.)

6. The Battle of Augusta. What if ... Masters chairman Hootie Johnson had just ignored the letter from Martha Burk of the National Council of Women's Organizations? We might have been spared a year of unseemly — and ultimately wasted — animosity over the absence of women at Augusta National Golf Club. Instead, Johnson hit back, and his comment that the club wouldn't change its policies "at the point of a bayonet" started a year-long war that led up to the 2003 Masters.

Burk went from relative unknown to a regular guest on national news shows, and she enjoyed strong backing from the New York Times, which editorially urged Tiger Woods to boycott the tournament, USA Today and the Washington Post. When Burk shrewdly began to apply gender-based political pressure to advertisers, Johnson outflanked her by canceling all tournament sponsorships. The battle dragged on for months, and Burk promised that picketing protestors in Augusta "will give those good old boys the vapors."

Long saga short: Burk was denied permits to demonstrate near Augusta National's main gate and had to move the protest elsewhere. What protest? Fewer than a hundred demonstrators showed up. Score a win for Johnson as the Masters went on uninterrupted. Two years later, the tournament sponsors were back on board.
The only real winners, as usual, were the lawyers. Burk sued the city of Augusta over its protest ordinance and won a favorable ruling from the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, which ordered the city to pay $150,000 in NCWO legal fees. When the court refused to hear an appeal, city officials negotiated a $120,000 settlement.

7. American idols. The U.S. Ryder Cup team was at rock bottom going into the 2008 Ryder Cup, having won only one of the last six Cups, including consecutive 9.5-point thumpings in 2004 and 2006. So captain Paul Azinger drew up a new points system and grouped his players in four-man pods according to personality type, which built familiarity during practice rounds. Azinger made all the right moves as his relaxed-but-determined lineup (minus the injured Tiger Woods) defeated Europe by a satisfying five-point margin to regain the Cup.

J.B. Holmes, one of Azinger's picks, came up big in singles, as did Kentucky native Kenny Perry, who heeded Azinger's advice on how to minimize the pressure of playing in front of his vocal home-state supporters.

Lightly regarded Boo Weekley was unbeaten and provided the moment that symbolized Team USA's fun approach. In his Sunday's singles match, he hilariously galloped off the first tee riding his driver like a pony. Introduction

Choosing shopping cart software can turn into a tough job due to the large number of e-commerce solutions available on the market. Overall, it's almost impossible to say which product is the best one since their feature richness, pricing, flexibility and the range of extra services vary to a great extent.

Therefore, buying the right product which fits into your goals can save a lot of time and effort, while a mistake may turn into extra costs, additional months of work or even cause starting the whole project from scratch.

There are several key factors which should be considered while picking the right solution. In this article, I'll try to outline the most important steps that definitely should not be missed. The tactics described below may be varied according to your goals, however, following this advice will be useful in the decision-making process as a whole.

Key groups of factors

Who you are

In my opinion, the first thing you should ask is the role he's going to play in the online store functioning process. The key factor of this role (at least for small and medium businesses) is the level of a person's technical knowledge.

In most cases, technology is an issue for store owners, managers and administrators. Since each store needs its own unique design, functionality and storefront design along with the initial setup and server administration, you should clearly understand how these services could be purchased and what the manufacturer has to offer. Another important issue for this target group is the ease of administration and usage of basic functions.

Another group of users are web developers and designers who are technically skilled and usually maintain the store by themselves or develop e-commerce solutions for their clients (which usually involves complex code changes and development of extra functionality). For these people, the most important factors are: the quality of code, the ease of customization and add-ons implementation and flexibility of storefront design.

Types of shopping carts

All shopping cart solutions can be divided into two large groups: hosted and distributed.

Hosted carts are usually provided in the same manner as hosting services, which means that a customer has several predefined plans/packages (varying in number of products, monthly bandwidth, number of features, etc) to choose from. The pricing structure is also based on regular (monthly or yearly) fees. A hosting platform is provided directly from the manufacturer and the cart is usually activated without any actions needed from a client.

Hosted shopping carts are managed through the administration area which provides the interface to manage product catalog (add, remove items and edit their properties), define and change prices and so on. The storefront design can usually be altered by modifying templates, however, the access to the source code for hosted solutions is usually limited and it's not always possible to modify the functionality.

Distributed solutions are sold at a fixed price (one-time fee for a lifetime license) as a software package which should installed on any compatible server chosen by a customer. After the initial setup, the store can also be managed using the administration area.

Usually such products come with source code and thus can be modified or extended to suit your needs. However, such modifications require good technical and programming knowledge (or working with those that have those skills).

Overall, hosted carts are often preferable for store owners as more easy to use and administer while web programmers, designers and developers mostly choose distributed solutions due to their flexibility.

Additional services

While most shopping cart features can often be used right out of the box, it's important to note that in most cases online stores require some additional professional services.

For example, e-commerce software may come with a number of pre-installed design templates, but a serious store owner would usually have its own unique store look or integrating it's existing design into the storefront. Also, since it's impossible for an ecommerce product containing each and every possible feature or working the way which is totally suitable for everyone, a shopping cart manufacturer providing custom programming service is a good option in case you're planning to implement some extended functionality.

Another option worth checking is whether it's possible to get a fully-compatible hosting solution (since shopping carts usually have significant server-side requirements due to their complexity) and technical support (in case you need consultations or assistance in problem resolution).

Integration with external systems

Ecommerce software should not be treated as a standalone product, but rather as a solid ground for interaction between various components.

Not all operations are performed within the shopping cart engine. Most often, external services are used for payment processing, real-time shipping rates calculation, order processing systems, affiliate and statistics software, product directories and so on.

Thus, the richness of integration allows store owners to have a wider choice of services for their online business.

Technical support, forum & third-party solutions

Responsive technical support is another key factor which ensures that you're not left alone with your problems and, in case the assistance is needed, you can be sure to receive a thoughtful response or a solution in a reasonable amount of time.

Support schemes from different companies may vary in type and costs. For shopping cart vendors, technical support is often on a pay-per-incident basis, or yearly/monthly flat-fee contract. Free technical support for ecommerce solutions is quite rare and may not always be effective or timely.

Forum activity is also a good indicator since it can be a good, free source of knowledge and assistance from experience software users.

In addition, it is advisable to check if third-party vendors offer modules or services related to a chosen e-commerce product to ensure that you will have a decent choice of extra solutions.

Tips and advice for research

Requirements

First of all, before proceeding with the actual product research, I'd advise that you collect the list of key features which are necessary for your upcoming online store. Such a checklist will allow you to ensure that all (or most) of them are present while examining features lists for chosen candidates.

Looking in search engines using relevant queries

Next, you may proceed with picking products for comparison. To find the most popular solutions, start searching in Google/Yahoo/MSN using relevant search phrases characterizing the product, like "shopping cart software", "ecommerce solution", "online store builder" etc.

For each query, pick products from top ten or top twenty search results. Visit their websites, compare product features and services presented there, pricing and any other information that you may consider relevant.

Looking for reviews and comments on forums and directories

For each product in your list, you would surely be interested to know what others have to say. In this case, independent sources provide valuable additions to official information from software vendors.

Most likely, product profiles along with customer reviews can be found on large script and software libraries like HotScripts, Freshmeat and Download.com. Also, check out some comparison sites, for example, Epinions and Shopping-Cart-Reviews.com. Finally, I'm sure that for your short list of solutions, some questions may still remain. This is a good reason to contact a vendor's sales team to find out their responses. Do not hesitate to do it, since the quality of feedback and attention to you as a potential client is worth checking before you actually proceed with the purchase.

Conclusion

Choosing shopping cart software may not seem easy since it involves significant effort from a serious customer. However, the rewards for the effort is obvious: you get a product which fits into your goals and allows you to concentrate on sales and marketing without worrying about the technical side. Moreover, as a client, you get to know the software vendor before buying a product and ensure that the technical side can be handled without a problem.

So what's happening here and what's does all this have to do with golf? Well, firstly it suggests that you don't need to have the spelling absolutely correct for our message to be understood. However, we do have to have the right letters in each word and the first and last letters of each word have to be correct. Secondly, it says that we are unconsciously very good at making a well informed guess about what we are seeing. So why shouldn't the same skill apply to reading a shot or putt on the golf course?

Well, of course it does. When you throw a ball to someone, you look at your target and, without you thinking consciously about any precise measurements, your mind makes the necessary assessment of what you're asking your body to do and simply does it. If on the other hand, you were executing a similar "throw" with a cannon, you'd be wanting to know the exact distance, the wind strength and direction, the temperature and all the other factors you'd need to assess the trajectory, direction and amount of gunpowder you'd need to send the cannon ball to the target. It can be the same when you hit a putt, if you trust your unconscious mind to do all the necessary calculations for you without you consciously analysing things too much.

But what about a full shot, don't you have to calculate the distance precisely before you hit the shot? Well yes you do, especially if the distance can be deceptive, for example with a blind shot. Knowing the distance also helps with choosing the best club to use. However, note that I said the best club. The better golfers can hit the same distance with a wide range of clubs. I remember playing years ago with a group of people who would always look in my bag to see what club I had just hit. I remember totally confusing them one day by hitting every shot I could, from 100 to 220 yards distance, with my 2-Iron. That sure confused them! I also remember that the scores in club competitions where you're only allowed to take 3 clubs and a putter always seem to be just as good, if not better, than when people have the full 14 clubs.

So remember that you have an amazing computing resource in your head that bases it's assessment of what you see, feel and hear not on precise measurements., so trust your unconscious for better golf.

7 Tips To Better Golf

You usually find that you pick up the game quicker and make greater strides forward with your golf game in the beginning. This is why it is important to start correctly as any bad habits you may have were probably ingrained when taking up golf. But the good news is you can change the faults through instruction and practice and learn the correct way of doing things. Better golf is just around the corner as there is plenty of advice to be found online to get your golf questions answered. There are 7 tips to better golf provided here.

1. It is imperative your alignment is correct. Not being able to hit the ball to your target is going to be a big problem if you want to improve. Aim the clubface to your target first and then align yourself keeping the knees, hips and shoulders all parallel to the target. Try to imagine a railway line with your toes touching one side of the track and the ball to target line being on the other.

2. A sound strategy is to pick a target that keeps you away from trouble off the tee. Use the teeing area to your advantage by teeing up the ball on the same side as the trouble and then you can aim away from it. You will find yourself in less trouble avoiding any penalties and you will keep the ball in play more often, which in turn will help reduce your handicap.

3. Maintain a steady head position throughout the golf swing. This will lead to more consistency producing better golf shots with a crisper strike. Bear in mind i said keep your head still and not DOWN. Keeping your head down has ruined many a good swing. Lift up your chin and you will produce a better shoulder turn which will allow you to keep your head still.

4. Reading the green properly is a valuable asset to have. Take time to improve your green reading skills as this will improve your putting no end. As well as the natural contours of a golf green you will also find that a golf ball will generally roll away from a hill and towards a water source. So keep this in mind and adjust as necessary. Once you have decided on the amount of break don't second guess yourself over the ball. Be confident and commit yourself to the line you have chosen.

5. The grain of the green another important aspect to consider too as it will effect the roll of the ball. Shiny grass tells you that the grain is running away from you, and dull grass highlights the grain running towards you. Putts with the grain  will go quicker and travel further. Those against the grain go slower and therefore less far.

6. A lot of the new softspikes fitted in golf shoes get clogged up quickly with grass, so make sure you scrape this away. A good footing is very important to have in golf and this is one small tip that will help to improve that.

7. Check your golf club grips as they can become worn and dirty through use. Make sure to wash them in warm soapy water with a scrubbing brush then towel dry. Do this once a week and you will be amazed how the grips feel and how much easier it will be to control the golf club as slippy, worn grips are a nightmare. Your only connection to the golf club is through your hands so it is vital your golf grips are in good condition. If they are not then get them replaced as soon as you can.

Do you travel frequently with your golf clubs? What is your budget for a golf travel bag? Do your golf trips mostly include air travel or auto travel? A soft golf travel bag is typically made of a canvas type material and padded on the inside and they have a hard bottom to protect your golf bag. These type of bags have wheels to help golfers transport their gear from location to location.

If you are not comfortable with this, then you can purchase a "stiff arm" accessory.

A golf hard case is as it sounds. It is a case that you place your golf bag and golf clubs into for their security and provides the highest amount of protection. Typically, with a hard case, you will not have extra space to pack clothes or golf accessories.

Since a hard golf travel case provides the most protection for your golf clubs, hard cases are a smart choice for the golfer who flies to the majority of your golf vacation spots. Often, airlines will cover any damage incurred when your clubs are in a hard golf case.

When it comes to storage at home or on the road, hard cases take up more room than other styles. The bulk of a hard golf case also makes it difficult to fit into the trunk of many rental cars. Hard golf cases might not make as much sense as hybrids or soft-covers if you do not fly to many of your golf vacations.

In the Mercedes Benz Championship, the opening event of the 2008 season, Stricker lost out in a play-off to Daniel Chopra. This result took Stricker to 3rd in the world rankings. He has spent over 50 weeks in the top-10 of the rankings since 2007.

In the 2009 Bob Hope Classic, Stricker shot third and fourth round scores of 61 and 62, at the PGA West Palmer and Nicklaus courses, to set the 36-hole scoring record on the PGA Tour at 123, beating a record that Pat Perez had held for only two days. (This record would fall in October when Troy Matteson shot 61-61=122 at the Frys.com Open.) His four round total of 33 under par in the five round event also set the PGA Tour record for lowest score relative to par for 72 holes, exceeding Ernie Els' total of 31 under par in the 2003 Mercedes-Benz Championship at Kapalua. The third-round 61 is Stricker's best score on Tour. He shot a 77 in the final round and ended up finishing in a tie for third.

Stricker won his fifth tournament on tour at the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial at the end of May with a playoff win over Tim Clark and Steve Marino. This was helped by a crucial 60 foot chip-in on the penultimate 71st hole of the championship.

Stricker won again in 2009 at the John Deere Classic in Silvis, Illinois. Stricker's third win of 2009 came in September at the Deutsche Bank Championship, the second of four playoff events. He began the final round tied with Retief Goosen and Sean O'Hair, and birdied the final hole to win the event by one stroke over Jason Dufner and Scott Verplank. Weekend golfers who have poor swing mechanics, lack of flexibility and core strength are more likely to get lower back pain. Golfers with poor swing mechanics tend to swing harder, causing larger spinal loads and increased muscle activity, resulting in more stress to the lumbar spine. Pro golfers who are physically fit and have good swing techniques are not immune to lower back problems either. Pro golfers tend to develop lower back pain from overuse due to repetitive one-sided movement.

Golfers who have degenerative disc disease or arthritis in the lumbar spine are more susceptible to overloading their spines. The discs lose their shock-absorbing capabilities, and loads are transferred to other structures within the spine that are unable to withstand these forces. A poor golf swing causes more shearing, compression and rotational forces on the low back. Can you believe that your body weight is forced through your spine eight times as you make contact with the ball? So, if poor mechanics are combined with a weak back, you are more likely to cause yourself a significant injury.

Poor posture is the most significant contributor to golfers’ lower back pain. Poor posture is caused often by muscle imbalances or visa versa. Poor posture and any amount of muscle imbalances cause biomechanical fault to your swing thus increasing risk of lower back injury. Golf swing requires that all elements of the posture have to be properly maintained throughout the swing. Golfers with a good posture swing better – and without back pain! Believe it or not, a proper posture has a positive influence on power production to your swing, too!

Many players with lower back pain are looking for an easy fix to treat their back pain. Some players are taking extra amount of painkillers before game while others try to get quick-fix with chiropractors. It’s true that these “treatment” might help reduce pain temporarily, but they rarely solve the underlying problem(s). If you lack flexibility on your shoulders, spine and hips, weak core muscles, poor posture and muscle imbalances, your back pain is not going anyway. Pain will persist until you decide to concentrate more in caring the cause of the pain, not only symptoms.

Several studies have shown that golfers with low back pain have decreased trunk and hip strength, decreased hamstring flexibility, as well as trunk rotation to the right is also limited. Looking For a Good Cart Golf Bag?

I love playing golf but I am beginning to find it very expensive. I started out with some second hand clubs and no bag but bought some new clothes which fitted in with the dress code of the club. As I got better I bought new clubs balls ad managed to get a second hand bag. However, as my club collection grows I find that my bag is getting to heavy to carry around and it is also getting scruffy looking. I need to get a new bag but am not sure what to get.

As everything is expensive, I want to make sure that I get a really good bag, which may cost a bit more money but that will last a long time. Something hard wearing will be best, which does everything that I need but also more, so that as my needs evolve the bag will continue to provide the service that I require.

I have been looking at all of the different types and brands. I have decided to go with a brand that I know. Many of my fellow players have recommended the Ogio bag as it is one that they have found works for them. I find that a personal recommendation is the best type and so I have been looking at what they have available. I want something that I can use on a golf cart as I have decided that lugging a heavy bag around the course is not doing my back any favors. I have managed to get access to a cart so it is just a case of getting a bag which works with one.

The Ogio Syncro Golf Bag seems to be one which will work with and without a golf cart - which is great in case I decide that I do not like the cart after all. It has lots of pockets which seems like a good idea and even a waterproof one that I can keep valuables in. I have seen it online and will go into my local shop and see if they have one so that I can have a good look at it. It looks pretty good on the website that I found it on but I always like to look at something up close before I buy it, especially if it is a more expensive purchase.

If I like it, once I have checked it out, I will read customer reviews online of the bag. I will look at a whole range as some may be biased and of course the more you look at, the wider an opinion you will get. If the reviews look mainly favorable I will look online to find out where I can get the cheapest one from.

I find this is the best way of getting a good bargain, but if you are doing this make sure that you take notice of the delivery charge as these are not always the same ad can make the difference between the cheapest and dearest available bag.

After Golf School - Jobs That Are Available At Graduation

The idea of attending golf school sounds ideal. You get to spend a couple of years learning about a sport that you love, improving your game and working on completing an education which you hope will lead to a lucrative and satisfying career in the future.

But, wait a minute. Exactly what career might you obtain after graduating from golf school? After all, you love the thought that you might land a professional golf career out of the deal but you realize that the likelihood of that isn't terrific. It could happen, but you don't want to spend your money on an education that has only a small chance of getting you closer to your dream. Don't worry; there are a number of other jobs that you can get after graduation from a golf college. These jobs are all related to the golf industry but will let you explore different interests as well, interests which may increase your likelihood of obtaining a job upon graduation.

For example, if you are interested in golf but are also interested in education, you could work on getting a job teaching golf. There are many different locations and settings in which golf instructors are needed. Many high schools have golf teams that need coaching. Resorts hire golf professionals to teach their skills to beginners who are just trying to enjoy a few days out on a luxurious golf course. Busy professionals pay to have private golf lessons for themselves or their young children. And golf schools also hire people to teach at their institutions. Teaching golf is one of the major careers that people graduating from a golf college enter. Those who get a jump start by working in some form of golf instruction during their college years are, of course, the ones who see the most success in making the transition from student to teacher.

Perhaps education isn't your thing. You may be great at sales and marketing. If you have a penchant for sales or any aspect of marketing, you can get a job in the sales and marketing division of the golf industry. Golf schools offer courses that teach you the skills that you need to head large marketing divisions of major golf organizations. There are many different types of jobs related to this. For example, you could be a marketing copywriter for a golf publication. Alternatively, you could work as the head of sales for a company specializing in certain kind of golf clubs or golf attire. As long as you are willing to work at making the sale and letting people know what's great about the product, you can do well in this area. Since you already love golf, you're one step ahead of people who have marketing skills in other industries.

Maybe you have a more creative interest that you would like to indulge while making the most out of your golf education. There are many different ways that you could use golf school as a launching pad for combining golf with other creative endeavors. If you are interested in photography, you could start networking during your college years to meet people who will later employ you as a photographer at special golf events. Similarly, perhaps you are interested in alternative healing. Use your golf school time to get to know people working at golf resorts. Later, you may come back to these people to get hired on as an alternative healer or physical therapists specializing in massage or therapy for golf injuries. Golf school is just a stepping-stone to a number of interesting and lucrative careers. Deciding what type of golf career you will pursue after graduation is limitless.

Rick Horrow, chief executive of Horrow Sports Ventures, whose clients have included the PGA and LPGA Tours, the National Football League, Major League Baseball and Major League Soccer, believes Woods' sponsors have too much invested in his success to walk away from the American sporting icon.
Horrow said: "Nike has 800 million annual reasons to stay with Tiger Woods - that's the annual revenue that Tiger has generated for Nike Golf - and other sponsors are similarly situated.
"So, while this story may get worse before it gets better, don't look for sponsors to pull out any time soon."
The world number one, a father of two, has not been seen in public since the crash and since a long line of women have claimed or been accused of having relationships with him.
He issued a statement saying that injuries suffered in the incident prevented him hosting and playing in the Chevron World Challenge in California last week and the date for his return to action is obviously being keenly awaited.
