Callaway Golf Warbird
Callaway Golf Warbird irons?
Anyone heard of the Callaway Warbird irons set?
I saw them on sale in a pro shop, but I can't seems to find any info on that in the internet.....
I am checking out the Callaway Warbird irons at the moment as well. The people at the shop (Drummond Golf) said they are very similar (in weight, feel and overall performance) to the the popular Callaway X18 model irons - which are RRP $1200 at Drummond currently. I had a hit with the warbirds in the practice net at the shop - really nice weight and feel. They will be on sale for $599 from the end of this week for the mid-year sales. Out of interest what price has your pro shop got them at?
What You should Know about the Changes to the Callaway Warbird Golf Ball that will Affect Your Score
If you are a serious golfer, then you are at least aware of Callaway Warbird Golf Balls. Now these might not be your favorite sleeve of balls, the engineers at the company have decided to make some changes for the better in pursuit of a higher quality ball. Just what did they do and how can that improve your score?
The first big change is in the dimpling on the outside of the ball. It no longer carries the standard dimples that have been so prevalent on the modern golf spheroid, but now are part of the Hex family. This has proven to be more aerodynamics in tests conducted by the research department, reducing the air drag and making for a smoother (and longer) flight off of the club face.
They have also changed the core to a more high power design, allowing the ball to jump off the club face, springing back to its original shape much more quickly after having been deformed by the impact of the swing. They guarantee this change along will make it the longest Warbird ever. This is assuming of course that you have a swing that is both repetitive and powerful.
Finally the cover is now composed of an Ionomer material which is supposed to make the ball more durable and also adds to the distance the ball will travel.
The Callaway Warbird Golf Ball can now be added to the list of golf equipment that modern science has taken and adapted to players of all skill levels. It certainly can be a weapon in the bag of the skilled player, but is now becoming more affordable even for the weekend duffer. What will an extra 10 yards do to your score? For most players, that is one less club into the green. It also means more control so a shorter putt is then likely to be made. All because of one golf ball? It certainly is possible, and is definitely something to consider before buying a new set of clubs.
Four!
