Help with a wedding guest outfit?! Black top hat and dress?! Girly or quirky?

I have an up coming wedding which I am attending as a guest :]

What shoes/bag/jewelery/cover up should I go for?

I'm not sure whether to carry on with the quirkiness (ie royal blue tights) or play down my usual strangeness with something more femminine? Esp as the hat is a little outlandish for most people :]
